The Product and Service Launch Handbook

Presales, Waitlists, and Launching What's New

You launched it, posted it, told everyone. Then the first week came and went.

24 tools, a spreadsheet, and one small brewery's launch worked through from the first idea to the final verdict, so you know what a launch needs before you put money into it.

You get 24 tools to test the idea with your own customers, do the math backward, build a waitlist, run a presale with a real date and a limit you can deliver, plan opening day, and judge the result against the numbers you set first. Plus a 5-tab spreadsheet.

You had a good idea. You ordered the packaging, took the photos, posted it, and shared it in your customers' group chat. Then the first week was slow, and you were left guessing. Was it the idea? The price? The photo? The day you posted? Nobody can tell you, because nobody wrote down what success was supposed to look like. The boxes sit in the back, and the next idea is already heading down the same road.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Three situations this handbook solves

Three ideas, one budget

Before you order anything, you score each idea on the five signals and ask your best customers the 0 to 10 question. Then you do the backward math: how many sales it needs and how big a list it takes to get there. One idea is left standing.

Deciding how many spots to open

You don't pick a round number that sounds exciting. You find the bottleneck, the slowest step in making or delivering it, and set the limit there. The presale terms go out in writing, with the date you can actually keep.

The window closed. Did it work?

You pull out the math you wrote down before you started, and compare. Then you follow the first customers for a few months, see who's still buying in month 3, and decide: keep it, adjust it, or shut it down.

INSIDE

What you'll find in each tool

Five parts, one for each phase of a launch, each building on the numbers from the one before. Test the idea before you build. Open a waitlist and run a presale. Warm up the list in the weeks before opening. Open, remind, and close the sales window on schedule. Then look after your first customers and give the launch a verdict: keep, adjust, or shut it down. Every tool has a step by step, a worked example, and an exercise.

Who it's for

It's for you if

  • You're about to launch a new product, service, line, or monthly plan in your business
  • You've launched before by posting and hoping, and never found out why sales were slow
  • You already have customers, even a small list, at the counter, in your messages, or on social media
  • You want to sell before you build, with a date and a limit you can actually deliver on
  • You run a service business, a shop, a small manufacturer, or an independent practice

It's not for you if

  • You sell online courses or digital products. This method is for businesses that make or deliver something physical or in person
  • You want to build the full offer, with bundles and terms. That's The Offer Handbook
  • You're starting a business from scratch and need to test the business model. See The Business Model Handbook
  • You want help writing the sales page or running paid ads. See The Copywriting Handbook and The Paid Ads Handbook
  • You're hoping for a promise of sales. This handbook organizes the launch and measures it against the math you did up front

Frequently asked questions

I don't run a brewery. Will this work for my business?

Yes, if you make or deliver something physical or in person. The example is a beer club, but every tool shows how it applies to services, retail, manufacturing and distribution, and independent professionals. A new service, a product line, or a monthly plan all go through the same phases.

My customer list is small. Is a waitlist still worth it?

Even more so. With a small base, each front-row customer carries more weight, and the list tells you early whether the launch will cover its costs before you produce a thing.

Do I need a presale for every launch?

No. A presale makes sense when the product depends on a batch, a class, or a schedule. For something already on the shelf, a sales window with a clear deadline is enough, and the handbook covers both.

What if the presale falls short of the target?

You decide with the math you did beforehand: postpone, change the offer, or call it off, always honoring what you agreed with the people who bought, and always in writing. The handbook walks you through that call.

How much time does this take?

About 2 hours and 24 minutes of reading, or 6 minutes per tool, plus the exercises. The 30-day plan covers testing, the math, the list, and planning the window. The window itself and the follow-up come later, on the dates your countdown sets.

What do I get, and in what formats?

Each handbook is a PDF of about 100 pages with 24 to 27 tools. Every tool has step-by-step instructions and a worked example. You also get the handbook's spreadsheet in Excel (.xlsx), which opens in Google Sheets too, with the example already filled in. The message, policy, and clause templates are in the Template Kit inside the PDF, ready to copy and adapt. Read it in the member area or download the files.

How do I know if it fits my business?

Each handbook's page shows the problem it solves, who it is for and who it is not for, the full table of contents, sample pages, and the company used in the examples. The examples come from small businesses in several industries, with illustrative numbers. If it is not a fit, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, as described in the Refund Policy.

What is the difference between a handbook, an area set, and the Series?

A handbook solves one problem. An area set brings together every handbook and spreadsheet in one of the 6 areas, for less than the price of 5 single handbooks. The Consylion Handbook Series brings together all 100 handbooks and 100 spreadsheets, for less than the price of 8 single handbooks, and includes the next handbooks in the Series. Products outside the Series, from Consylion Life or Consylion Business, have their own price. They are sold separately and are not part of an area set or the Series.

Do I need to read everything before I start?

No. Each tool works on its own. Open the table of contents, pick the tool for today's problem, and start there. You can also read it cover to cover.

Do I need to know Excel?

The basics are enough: open the file and fill in the marked fields. The formulas are already built, and the handbook's example is filled in for reference.

How do I pay, and when do I get access?

By card or bank transfer, as a one-time payment with no subscription. Once your payment is confirmed, you get access to the member area by email. Approved card payments are confirmed right away. Bank transfers are confirmed when the funds clear. If access does not arrive within 24 hours of confirmation, check your spam folder and write to team@consylion.org.

How long do I have access, and how can I use the files?

Access does not expire, and you can download the files for offline use. The license is individual. You may read the handbooks, print them for your own use, and fill in and adapt the spreadsheet and templates with your company's data. If you are a consultant, accountant, or manager, you may apply the tools with your clients and deliver the result of your work, not the files. You may not share, resell, or distribute the files or the access.

How do support and refunds work?

Support is by email at team@consylion.org, on business days, with a reply within 5 business days. It covers questions about access, files, and payment. It does not include consulting or advice on applying the material to your case. You can cancel within 14 days of your purchase, without giving a reason, and get the full amount back through the payment method you used. Send the request to the same email. The details are in the Refund Policy.
