The Small Business Tax Paperwork Handbook
Taxes, Deadlines, and Paperwork for Owners: What to Send, What to Ask, and What to Check with Your Accountant
The bill shows up. The money to pay it already went somewhere else.
24 tools, a spreadsheet that does the math, and one bike shop followed through a full year with its accountant, so you set the money aside first, send the paperwork on time, and check what comes back.
You get 24 tools to understand what the business pays, set money aside before the bill comes, send the monthly package on time, check what your accountant sends, and choose and review your accountant. Plus a spreadsheet with 8 tabs, filled in with the example.
A book explains the method. This handbook puts it to work: the tool, a worked example, and a spreadsheet with your numbers.
One-time payment of $29.00. The order form shows the final amount, with any taxes for your country, before you pay.
Digital delivery: PDF handbook, spreadsheet and access on the Consylion platform.
14-day money-back guarantee: if it isn't what you expected, request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.

A bill arrives and you're not sure what it's for. You pay it with money that was meant for something else. You send receipts to your accountant whenever you remember, so the month's numbers come back too late to change anything. Your accountant only shows up when there's something to pay. And the penalty for a missed date? You find out about it when it's already on the bill.
THE SPREADSHEET

Use the completed example as a reference and enter your business data in the marked fields. Check the instructions and the calculations before you make a decision.

SOUND FAMILIAR?
Three situations this handbook solves
The 5th of the month
The monthly package goes out: sales, receipts, and bank and card statements, all in one shared folder, on the same day every month. Your accountant's numbers come back almost two weeks sooner, while there's still time to act on them.
A bill that doesn't look right
Before you pay, you run the two-minute check: this month's sales times the percentage your accountant gave you. The bill is more than 5 percent off, so you send the question first, with time to spare before the due date.
An official letter arrives
You don't answer it yourself. You send a photo to your accountant the same day, pull the documents from your records in minutes, and reply through your accountant, in writing, before the deadline.
INSIDE
What you'll find in each tool
Five parts, from the money to the relationship. See what the business pays, in three groups, and build a reserve. Get the month in order: separate accounts, receipts, the monthly package, and a deadline calendar. Read and check what your accountant sends. Choose, manage, and review your accountant. Then the year: the close, the annual meeting, penalties, and official requests. Every tool has step-by-step instructions, an example, and an exercise.

Who it's for
It's for you if
- You pay whatever your accountant tells you to and have no way to check it
- Your paperwork goes out late and the month's numbers come back too late to use
- You've been caught by a big bill with no money set aside for it
- You want to choose, review, or switch accountants with clear criteria instead of a hunch
It's not for you if
- You want your country's rules explained. That's your accountant's job, and this handbook doesn't interpret them
- You want to build what you pay on each sale into your prices. That's The Service Pricing Handbook
- You want to set your owner's pay and how profit gets distributed. That's The Owner's Finances Handbook
- You're hoping for a way to pay less. This handbook teaches you to organize, check, and ask, not to shrink the bill
Frequently asked questions
Does this handbook explain the rules in my country?
No, on purpose. It teaches you to work with your accountant in any country. The rules where you live are your accountant's job, and every tool tells you what to check with them (Tools 01 and 03).
How much should I set aside in the reserve?
Take your accountant's yearly estimate, divide it by expected revenue, and round up. Redo it every quarter. The spreadsheet does the math, and Tool 04 walks you through it.
The bill doesn't match my own math. Should I pay it?
If the difference is more than 5 percent, ask before you pay, with time left before the due date. Never let it go past due while you wait for an answer (Tools 11 and 22).
When should I switch accountants?
When the annual review is still poor after an honest conversation and a full quarter of working on the improvements you agreed on. Never in the middle of the year-end close (Tools 17 and 18).
An official letter arrived. Should I answer it myself?
No. Send it to your accountant the same day and reply through them, in writing, before the deadline (Tools 13 and 23).
Do I need to understand accounting?
No. It's written for owners, beginner to intermediate: about 2 hours and 24 minutes of reading, or 6 minutes per tool. You won't become an accountant, and you shouldn't. You'll know enough to ask, check, and decide.
What do I get, and in what formats?
Each handbook is a PDF of about 100 pages with 24 to 27 tools. Every tool has step-by-step instructions and a worked example. You also get the handbook's spreadsheet in Excel (.xlsx), which opens in Google Sheets too, with the example already filled in. The message, policy, and clause templates are in the Template Kit inside the PDF, ready to copy and adapt. Read it in the member area or download the files.
How do I know if it fits my business?
Each handbook's page shows the problem it solves, who it is for and who it is not for, the full table of contents, sample pages, and the company used in the examples. The examples come from small businesses in several industries, with illustrative numbers. If it is not a fit, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, as described in the Refund Policy.
What is the difference between a handbook, an area set, and the Series?
A handbook solves one problem. An area set brings together every handbook and spreadsheet in one of the 6 areas, for less than the price of 5 single handbooks. The Consylion Handbook Series brings together all 100 handbooks and 100 spreadsheets, for less than the price of 8 single handbooks, and includes the next handbooks in the Series. Products outside the Series, from Consylion Life or Consylion Business, have their own price. They are sold separately and are not part of an area set or the Series.
Do I need to read everything before I start?
No. Each tool works on its own. Open the table of contents, pick the tool for today's problem, and start there. You can also read it cover to cover.
Do I need to know Excel?
The basics are enough: open the file and fill in the marked fields. The formulas are already built, and the handbook's example is filled in for reference.
How do I pay, and when do I get access?
By card or bank transfer, as a one-time payment with no subscription. Once your payment is confirmed, you get access to the member area by email. Approved card payments are confirmed right away. Bank transfers are confirmed when the funds clear. If access does not arrive within 24 hours of confirmation, check your spam folder and write to team@consylion.org.
How long do I have access, and how can I use the files?
Access does not expire, and you can download the files for offline use. The license is individual. You may read the handbooks, print them for your own use, and fill in and adapt the spreadsheet and templates with your company's data. If you are a consultant, accountant, or manager, you may apply the tools with your clients and deliver the result of your work, not the files. You may not share, resell, or distribute the files or the access.
How do support and refunds work?
Support is by email at team@consylion.org, on business days, with a reply within 5 business days. It covers questions about access, files, and payment. It does not include consulting or advice on applying the material to your case. You can cancel within 14 days of your purchase, without giving a reason, and get the full amount back through the payment method you used. Send the request to the same email. The details are in the Refund Policy.

Don't find out about the penalty from the bill
You don't need to become an accountant. You need to know enough to set the money aside before the bill, send the paperwork on the right day, check what comes back, and ask before you decide. This handbook gives you the tools, the spreadsheet, and a worked example to do exactly that.
